Prospect Peace Institute and Frontier County Development Council Pave the Way for Collaboration in Addressing Conflict Resolution in ASAL Counties

Nairobi, Kenya – The prospect peace institute – Africa, a leading independent policy research and consultancy firm based in Nairobi, held a courtesy call meeting with the frontier county development Council (FCDC) to explore potential areas of mutual cooperation in addressing the complex challenges in conflicts, and peace initiative in Northern counties. The get together aimed to fosters collaboration and partnerships in diverse thematic areas, focusing on peace Programs in the Northern Kenya, the meeting as well emphasis the importance of accelerating the corporation of two organizations in enhancing learning and knowledge transfer to foster socio-economic wellbeing of the FCDC Counties.

During the courtesy call meeting, the team engaged in discussions that highlighted the potential synergies in addressing the complex issues facing the frontier counties of Kenya, and set the stage for exploring collaborative efforts in areas such as conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and policy development to enhance stability in these regions.

The Frontier County Development Council is a regional economic bloc comprising the county governments of Lamu, Tana River, Garissa, Wajir, Mandera, Marsabit, Isiolo, Turkana, Samburu, and West Pokot. The bloc established in the aftermath of devolution, there mandate includes the facilitation of policy review and integration, especially those policies that directly impact the frontier counties. its goal is to foster collaboration among relevant agencies and authorities, transcending boundaries and jurisdictions for the betterment of the FCDC counties.
