Training and Capacity Building
PPI-Africa packages are designed to enhance the capacities of key stakeholders through training at the strategic level and mid-level personnel and communities based on the curricula that will be developed. One of them is a comprehensive Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT). This is an advanced-level security course aimed at those who live, operate in, or travel to very insecure contexts.
The training is very realistic and participants are put through complex scenarios to build their skills and confidence. The program’s focus is on finding risk mitigation strategies around armed conflict, terrorism attacks, bombings, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and other serious threats.
