PPI-AFRICA: PARTNERING FOR PEACE IN AFRICA SUMMIT-MUTHU SILVER SPRINGS HOTEL

Prospect Peace Institute-Africa (PPI-A) convened a landmark seminar today at Muthu Silver Springs Hotel in Nairobi, themed “Building Bridges: Partnering for Peace in Africa.” The event brought together national and regional think tanks, security experts, non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations, academia, and international organizations to explore new pathways for peace and stability on the continent.

PPI-A is a leading African think tank dedicated to promoting peace and security through research, dialogue, and partnerships. Its flagship programs cover governance, applied research, capacity building, strategic communication, consultancy services, and security analysis, all aimed at addressing Africa’s most pressing challenges.

Some of the key takeaways from the seminar included:

Mental Wellness: Experts urged governments and institutions to integrate mental health into peacebuilding and leadership training. Challenges facing the youth: Participants called for tech-driven and sustainable livelihood models including programs that equip youth with relevant skills for socio-economic development and resilience.

Regional Security Flashpoints: Leaders emphasized the need to strengthen early-warning systems and cultural solutions in support of conflict management and peace building initiatives in Africa, particularly in cross boarder communities and pastoral borderlands.

Stronger Partnerships: Delegates committed to exploring the formation of a consortium focused on mutually beneficial areas such as the promotion of peace through traditional dispute resolution mechanisms among many others, pooling expertise and resources to influence policy and create meaningful impact.
