Num MZGG00044NPM / Kokou / 76 years

My name is Abidi Kokou. I am seventy-six (76) years of age, and I live in the village of Gapé-Kpedji. I have completed my primary school education, and I am a petty farmer. Gapé-Kpédji is a rural community of the Maritime Region, in the Southern region of Togo. The latter is a coastal West African country bordered to the North by Burkina Faso, to the East by Benin, and to the West by Ghana. I am suffering from hernia, my genital organ being affected. This illness has started as I was young, and the symptoms have been stomachache, and my whole body is hot. Moreover, I have been feeling pains in my hip and my knees. Despite the traditional treatments, I have not recovered. At the hospital, the analyses revealed the need of a surgery for me to recover. Today, I hardly move, and when I get to the farm, I am already too tired to work. I have no more stamina to carry out my farming activities. That is why my crops have drastically died down, though I have a wife with children to fend for. For heaven’s sake, assist me financially so that I can get my surgery performed in an appropriate health center, which will allow me to recover and take care of my family.

The village of Gapé-kpedji is near the western frontier of Ghana. You can get there via a track. An old water overwhelming the village shows that you are actually in the said village. Poor, an overwhelming majority of the habitats of the latter are erected with beaten earth and covered with metal sheet or straw.
